Grilled Purple Passion Asparagus
It’s that time of year again, asparagus season! The anticipation of these crunchy little spears making their appearance is very exciting, especially at the farmer’s markets. Many vendors grow asparagus, but the most anticipated is Cochise Family Farm‘s Purple Passion Asparagus! They are delicious on their own in a salad, but roasted or grilled with seasonings and spices takes them to the next level. Grab some at Udall Park Farmers Market and Rillito Park Farmers Market!
- 1 bunch asparagus
- 1-2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper
Preheat grill to medium heat. Prep asparagus by rinsing and removing ends if needed (we didn’t need to, as they weren’t very woody). Place washed asparagus on a baking sheet, then toss with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt and pepper. Arrange on grill so that each spear has contact with the heated surface. Grill until desired doneness; we like them crunchy with just a little char. Remove them from the grill and add more seasoning if desired. Enjoy!
