Market Ambassador

Heirloom Farmers Market Market Ambassador Program helps SNAP, WIC & FMNP Senior customers shop, cook, and eat locally. Thanks to the support of our sponsor, Arizona Complete Health, the Market Ambassador Program has the opportunity to continue serving the southern Arizona community. Cipora serves as the Market Ambassador at the Rillito Park Farmers Market and can be easily identified by her bright green apron while she assists customers throughout the market.

SNAP and FMNP customers are encouraged to seek out the Market Ambassador from the moment they receive their benefits to the moment they buy their food. The Market Ambassador gives market tours and connects SNAP and WIC customers with farmers. With the Market Ambassador as a guide, customers learn about seasonal produce, create shopping lists and grocery budgets, and brainstorm recipes and meal plans. These efforts engage SNAP and FMNP customers to enjoy the farmers markets and return for healthy and locally grown food. “The more that people know about food and nutrition, the bigger impact we have on the community,” says Development Director Doran Hadan. HeirloomFM is working closely with SNAP-Ed to build a Market Ambassador position that is replicable at other farmers markets around the state.

**Attention Arizona Complete Health-Complete Care Plan members! – Every enrolled Arizona Complete Health-Complete Care Plan member is eligible to receive one $20 voucher booklet per year redeemable for fresh food items at any of the five Heirloom Farmers Markets.
