Eatgypt focuses on offering a single main dish called koshary. It’s an amazing jumble of rice, lentils, chickpeas, elbow noodles, and crispy fried onion. The delectable assemblage of ingredients then gets topped off with a secret, tangy Egyptian-style tomato sauce.
This is a dish that is healthy, nourishing, and tasty. It also just so happens to be 100% vegan. We offer this dish in a gluten-free version for guests who may be gluten intolerant or looking to avoid gluten.
Try our traditional Egyptian drink called karkade. It is made with real brewed hibiscus, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and vegan sugar. We don’t over-sweeten – so the tartness of both the hibiscus and lemon juice are what shine brightest.
From time to time we also might have on offer ta’ameya – Egypt’s version of falafel made with fresh greens and fava beans. There’s also basbousa – a soft semolina cake made with vegan butter and a touch of coconut – then soaked in a sweet syrup. As with our other offerings, these too are 100% vegan.
Besides a commitment to offering an all-vegan menu – Eatgypt also has committed to using non-GMO ingredients in our recipes. We also source and utilize biodegradable packaging. Our main dish is served in a fully compostable bowl. Our cups and straws are paper. We use recycled kraft bags for larger takeaway orders.
