1/29 – 1/31 Citrus Jubilee at the Farmers Market

Pucker up and celebrate the citrus season! Last year’s wet and cold winter brought a small harvest of citrus. This January, oranges, grapefruits, lemons, tangelos and kumquats are flourishing on the trees. At Heirloom Farmers Markets we’re excited to highlight this fresh and zesty fruit with its own Citrus Jubilee weekend! Join us at the farmers markets 9am – 1pm Friday, January 29th at Trail Dust Town (Home of Pinnacle Peak), Saturday, January 30th in Oro Valley (Steam Pump Ranch) and Sunday, January 31st at Rillito Park (Food Pavilion) for locally grown citrus, citrus food specialties, citrus recipe cards, and live music by Little Omena. Featured at Rillito Park Farmers Market, we will also have food trucks and chef demos with Pascos Kitchen and Red’s Smokehouse’s Chef Ramiro Scavo.

When thinking about the delights of citrus, your mind goes directly to freshly squeezed orange juice and peeling back the thick skin for a juicy snack. But, much more can be credited to this tangy fruit. Add a squeeze of citrus to countless recipes for a zesty zing. At the farmers market you’ll find tangy breads and pastries, citrus jams and jellies, freshly squeezed juice, flavored olive oils and vinegars, and scented soaps highlighting this vibrant fruit. Plus, keep your eyes out for recipe cards on the many ways to cook and use this in-season fruit. Join us for the smells, flavors and inspiration citrus brings to your palate! Stop by the market info booth for a full list of citrus vendors and citrus inspired market deals.
