Giving Tuesday, November 30th, 2021 is a global day of generosity that highlights the power of people and organizations to make a positive impact on the lives of others, and thus transform their communities and the world. You can participate in Giving Tuesday by donating to Heirloom Farmers Markets! Your tax-deductible donation benefits our mission to increase vital access to the community for local nutritious food, and provide economic opportunity for many local family-owned small businesses. Food access and economic opportunity are both threatened by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to significantly increased food insecurity in our community. During this time of uncertainty, farmers markets serve a crucial role in supporting resilient local food systems. Giving Tuesday emphasizes opportunities to give back to communities and causes in safe ways that allow for social connection and kindness even while practicing physical distancing. Your donatioN, regardless of amount, FUels our mission and directly supports:

• Access to local healthy food for customers with SNAP/EBT, and FMNP WIC/Senior food benefits who rely on their purchases to be matched with a dollar-for-dollar program. We’ve already distributed over $130,000 in SNAP dollars this year that customers can spend with our local food producers in addition to a matching amount for Double Up Food Bucks spent directly with our farmers on Arizona-grown produce.
• Our mission to keep Southern Arizona growing food. The 30+ farms in our market system sell directly to the community, allowing farms to keep more of their profits.
• The infrastructure for more than 250 local small businesses that otherwise may not survive. At our markets, producers sell directly to customers, and you can truly know your farmer!

Heirloom Farmers Markets have historically been a hub for the community to get to know their food, farmers, producers, and neighbors. Although the pandemic challenged us in many ways, we have weathered the storm with the love and support of our wonderful community. The pandemic has made us even more passionate about making food more accessible and providing a safe shopping experience for all people. We slowly have began to create a “new” normal and we need your continued support to keep our markets running efficiently. Together we can create an even more abundant and vibrant Southern AZ food system!
