New Vendors Sought for Tucson-Area Farmers’ Markets

NEW VENDOR APPLICATION PERIOD NOW CLOSED

Heirloom Farmers Market is looking for farmers and vendors interested in selling locally grown products at its farmers markets at one of the state’s busiest farmers markets.

Applications are now being accepted for the Heirloom Farmers Market programs, an effort involving the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Pima County Parks and Recreation.

“We are looking for vendors whose practices support our mission of creating a successful local food system“ Says Executive Co-Director Manish Shah.  “We prefer that all products be grown in Arizona, and we give preference to those who farm organically.”

While vendors with experience are preferred, Heirloom hopes to encourage new food entrepreneurs to consider the market.   “We are looking to help farmers and food vendors start their businesses at the market.  A recent grant from the USDA has helped make this possible,” says Market Manager Nick Szumowski.

The Markets are located at Trail Dust Town, Friday 9 – 1, Oro Valley Steam Pump Ranch Saturday 9 – 1; and Sunday, 9 am – 1 pm, Rillito Park.

Rules and regulations and the application are located on Heirloom’s website at Become a Vendor page.  Applications must be received by November 30, 2015 in order to be considered for the 2016 Season.
